Our application process has been designed to make it as simple as possible to apply.
When you click ‘Apply’ on any job you will be asked to create an account (email address and password) which then creates a Candidate Home for you.
Because we require you to upload a CV, you do not need to complete a lengthy application form, just answer a few questions. And, as you would expect, your contact details are really important, so we have made those fields mandatory on the account form.
Once you have submitted your application, you will receive an email notification telling you that we have received your application and/or CV and confirmation that your application is being progressed. Your application is very important to us and we make every effort to ensure that you are kept informed at every stage of the process.
If your application is successful, dependant on the role you will be invited to attend an assessment or interview.
Each assessment event is individually designed to ensure the evidence obtained during the selection process reflects the key requirements/competencies for the role. Typically, these events will include a behavioural and technical competency based interview and may include other assessment tools such as role-plays, in-tray exercises and presentations.
Centrica also recognises the value of ability tests and personality questionnaires in the selection process and may use these if appropriate to the role.
Keeping you informed
Following your assessment event, we will contact you and advise you on your progress. If successful, we will talk through the details of your offer, and you will be given access to our on boarding site 'Gateway' where you will receive confirmation of the offer, your contract and any benefit packages available with your role. Even if you are not a successful match for a particular role, we will happily provide feedback on how you performed in the selection process.
Keeping your details
If you are not successful on this occasion, as long as you have registered your details on this site you may be considered for future vacancies that may suit your skills and experience. You can continue to review and apply for any new roles online using your login and password created during initial registration.
Centrica has a responsibility to protect its business, employees and customers and as a result will undertake pre-employment checks. The checks conducted will vary depending on the role you've been recruited for and may include details of current/previous employment, credit history, criminal record, qualification and education checks as appropriate. In some limited cases we may do FSA and Director checks.
